Honda Civic Fast Cars

The Honda Civic is a line of subcompact and subsequently compact cars made and manufactured by Honda. In North America, the Civic is the second-longest continuously-running nameplate from a Japanese manufacturer; only the Toyota Corolla, introduced in 1968, has been in production longer. The Civic, along with the Accord and Prelude, comprised Honda's vehicles sold in North America until the 1990s, when the model lineup was expanded. Having gone through several generational changes, the Civic has become larger and more upmarket, and it currently slots between the Fit and Accord.

It was introduced in July 1972 as a two-door coupe, followed by a three-door hatchback that September. With the transverse engine mounting of its 1169 cc engine and front-wheel drive like the British Mini, the car provided good interior space despite overall small dimensions. Early models of the Civic typically included a basic AM radio, heater, foam-cushioned plastic trim, two-speed wipers, and painted steel rims with a chromed wheel nut cap. As the years went by, it has become much more upscale with options such as air conditioning, power locks, power windows, leather upholstery, satellite-linked navigation, and a six-speed manual transmission. Initially gaining a reputation for being fuel-efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly, later iterations have become known for performance and sportiness, especially the Civic Type-R, Civic GTi and Civic SiR.

The Civic has been rebadged for international markets with such models as the Honda Ballade and Honda Domani/Acura EL. The Civic platform also served as the basis for the CR-X sport compact, the CR-X del Sol targa convertible, and the CR-V compact SUV.

As of 2008, the Civic has been the top-selling car in Canada for eleven straight years.[4][5] With high gas prices and a weak economy in June 2008, the Civic supplanted the Ford F-Series to become the top-selling vehicle in the United States for that month.

Civic sales in Japan are ending with the gas version ended in August 2010 and hybrid in December.International versions and hybrids will continue to be manufactured for sales outside of Japan.

Alfa Romeo Wallpapers

Alfa Romeo Automobiles S.p.A. is an Italian manufacturer of cars. Founded as A.L.F.A. on June 24, 1910 in Milan, the company has been involved in car racing since 1911, and has a reputation for building expensive sports cars. The company was owned by Italian state holding company Istituto per la Ricostruzione Industriale between 1932 and 1986, when it became a part of the Fiat Group, and since February 2007 a part of Fiat Group Automobiles S.p.A.

The company that became Alfa Romeo was founded as Società Anonima Italiana Darracq (SAID) in 1906 by the French automobile firm of Alexandre Darracq, with some Italian investors. Late 1909, the Italian Darracq cars were selling slowly and a new company was founded named A.L.F.A. (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili English: Lombard Automobile Factory, Public Company), initially still in partnership with Darracq. The first non-Darracq car produced by the company was the 1910 24 HP, designed by Giuseppe Merosi. A.L.F.A. ventured into motor racing, with drivers Franchini and Ronzoni competing in the 1911 Targa Florio with two 24 HP models. In August 1915 the company came under the direction of Neapolitan entrepreneur Nicola Romeo, who converted the factory to produce military hardware for the Italian and Allied war efforts. In 1920, the name of the company was changed to Alfa Romeo with the Torpedo 20-30 HP becoming the first car to be badged as such.

In 1928 Nicola Romeo left, with Alfa going broke after defence contracts ended, and at the end of 1932 Alfa Romeo was rescued by Benito Mussolini's government, which then had effective control. The Alfa factory struggled to return to profitability after the Second World War, and turned to mass-producing small vehicles rather than hand-building luxury models. The company, in 1954, developed the classic Alfa Romeo Twin Cam engine, which would remain in production until 1995. During the 1960s and 1970s Alfa Romeo produced a number of sporty cars, though the Italian government parent company, Finmeccanica, struggled to make a profit so sold the marque to the Fiat Group in 1986.

Alfa Romeo has competed successfully in many different categories of motorsport, including Grand Prix motor racing, Formula One, sportscar racing, touring car racing and rallies. They have competed both as a constructor and an engine supplier, via works entries (usually under the name Alfa Corse or Autodelta) and private entries. The first racing car was made in 1913, three years after the foundation of the company, and Alfa Romeo won the inaugural world championship for Grand Prix cars in 1925. The company gained a good name in motorsport, which gave a sporty image to the whole marque. Enzo Ferrari founded the Scuderia Ferrari racing team in 1929 as an Alfa Romeo racing team, before becoming independent in 1939

Ways to Compare Auto Insurance Quotes

auto insurance
One of the sole reasons why people want to compare auto insurance quotes is to save money. In order to determine the quotes the provider takes into consideration factors like have you ever taken the claim, area where you live, etc.

It’s obvious that you need to get quotes from different providers in order to get the most suitable rates for you.

You’ll find that if you live in a theft prone area then your premium is expected to be higher than the people living in a safer area, also if you have taken claim too many times in the previous year then insurer would try to increase rates in the next year. So try to get security features installed in you car and rather than parking your car on the street, park it in the garage.

The best way to get auto insurance quotes compared is online as it’s quick and easy. You just have to go online fill in the basic application form and that website will provide you with number of quotes then you can just compare them side by side and get the right one for yourself. Many websites provide you with quotes from different insurance providers and hence make your task quite simple.

2012 Bmw X6 Cars Wallpapers

The good: The 2010 BMW X6 M corners like cars half its size and hits 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds. The navigation system has nicely textured topographical maps and finds routes around bad traffic.

The bad: At below 17 mpg, fuel economy is terrible in the X6 M. The vehicle’s design isn’t terribly practical, combining the ungainliness of an SUV with the tight interior of a coupe.

The bottom line: While impressive in its speed, handling, and cabin tech, the 2010 BMW X6 M is an expensive and impractical car, with all the weight of an SUV, but little of the interior space.

2011 Lamborghini Reventon wallpapers

The Volkswagen Group threw a major shindig in Frankfurt earlier tonight at which it showed off all the new wares its introducing to the public at the Frankfurt show beginning tomorrow. The car that has assuredly generated the most heavy breathing this evening is the holy-crap-that-thing’s-effing-badass Lamborghini Reventon.

The Reventon’s carbon fiber bodywork is all-new and aeronautically inspired. That explains the pointed beak up front that’s flanked by a pair of gaping intakes that swallow air in gulps to cool the brakes. Given the look of the car, you could probably tell people they’re feeding a Pratt & Whitney mounded aft of the passenger compartment and they’d believe you as long as you kept a straight face. In fact, the expected handbuilt V12 resides in that spot, proudly displayed under angled & vented glass panels that look like reptile scales from above.
